Thanks for visiting our website!

We hope to give you a general idea of who we are, what we believe, and what our ministry is like.  We’ll briefly answer some questions that you’re likely to have.  Our prayer is that this may be the beginning of a conversation, and God willing, a relationship in Christ!

So, what is “Reformed” exactly? ...

The word ‘Reformed’ is part of the name of some denominations, like ours, but actually describes a particular tradition of biblical interpretation and theological distinctives.  Particular Reformed emphases include:

¨      A high view of the authority of Scripture as our only infallible guide for life and faith

¨      Total reliance on the free and sovereign grace of God as our assurance of salvation

¨      The transforming presence and power of the Holy Spirit in individuals, the Church, and the world

¨      A firm commitment to the essentials of our faith, balanced with a non-legalistic approach to disputable questions.

Being both evangelical and ecumenical, we know ourselves to be in spiritual communion with all Christians who faithfully profess the historic faith as articulated in the ancient creeds of the Church.  As such, the Reformed tradition would include persons as diverse as St. Augustine and Billy Graham!

Then, what does this look like here at New Prospect?

It means that this is a congregation firmly anchored in Scripture, and in a sound and respected theological tradition.  It means we value historic doctrine and tradition, while ministering in the present, open to healthy change.  Some of the ways these general statements become specific are:

¨      Our worship style is blended, featuring lively praise music along with historic hymns, liturgies, and prayers

¨      The study and teaching of the Bible is central.  We have several Bible Fellowship Groups meeting weekly

¨      We are a loving and welcoming community.  Knowing ourselves as sinners saved by grace, we joyfully welcome all whom God has called.

What about current controversial issues?

People visit a church and want to know – “What is your stand on Homosexuality?  Abortion?  Divorce?”  We will always uphold God’s moral will as revealed in Scripture and in the plain evidence of His design as Creator.  Even so, Jesus came not to condemn but to save.  Redeemed sinners ourselves, we testify to God’s healing and reconciliation to all in Christ.  We speak the truth in love.  We are never without hope.  God’s grace always is the final Word.

Okay I’m interested!  Programs?

We offer the programs and services many churches do, with a few special features as well:

¨      Sound Christian Education for all ages

¨      Weekly Bible Fellowship Groups

¨      Weekly Prayer meeting

¨      The Abundant Life Food Pantry – helping those in need

¨      The Abundant Life Café – A monthly Christian Coffeehouse

¨      Annual Fellowship events

An Invitation

We hope this brief tour of New Prospect has encouraged you to learn more and look for ways to participate in our communal life.  The most typical and essential is Sunday worship at 10:00 am (9:30 during summer months.)  Or you may wish to visit one of our Bible Studies, or the Abundant Life Café.  However you come, please know you are welcome.  We look forward to knowing you better!

Sunday Morning

Worship Service at 10:00 AM
Every Sunday we worship the Living God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Our Pastor’s messages are biblical and challenging. (Click here to read a recent sermon.) Worshipers enjoy a service in which reformed tradition is blended with contemporary Christian worship and praise music. We end with a time for sharing joys and concerns, and offering of prayers freely to God. We celebrate Communion the first and third Sunday of each month, and our table is open to all who confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. (non-alcoholic grape juice served; gluten-free bread available.)   You are welcome!

Christian Education at 8:45 AM
Programs for Pre K - adult.  Sunday School… It’s for Life!

Bible Fellowships
In Bible fellowships, the Holy Spirit teaches and guides us in understanding of God's word. In this atmosphere spiritual openness, trust, friendship, and love grow strongly. But most importantly, God, whom to know is eternal life, draws us nearer to Himself. The Holy Spirit works powerfully in these intimate settings.  You are welcome! Please join us!

Loechner’s Bible Fellowship – Mondays 7 PM
Monday evenings we gather at the residence of Rick & Dawn Loechner to dig really deep into the word of God.  We are starting at the beginning of the New Testament with the book of Matthew.

Pastor's Bible Fellowship - Tuesdays 7 PM
Tuesday evening Bible study brings together those thirsting to understand the Word of God and its application for our daily lives. Each meeting consists of studying a short passage of scripture and relating that passage to life experiences. By studying His Word, our hope is to walk in obedience and share in His love.

Women's Bible Fellowship - Fridays 9:15 AM
This group provides a place for women to study the Bible, share joys and concerns, and pray together.  We meet together Friday mornings and are studying the gospel of Luke.  Childcare provided!

Men's Breakfast – Monthly on the 2nd Saturday
For men who desire growing in relationship with God through His Word, and building our relationships as men in Christ. Meet in Fellowship Hall.  $3 donation requested.
